Details

The purpose of the Zeta spring preloader is to allow a spring to act normally in compression while limiting its travel in extension.

In many applications, this allows for the use of a softer spring to generate the required load in compression without the issues associated with the additional load in extension.

Applications Include :

Left Rear Back behind on dirt late models and modifieds to provide large extended load numbers off throttle for corner entry and no spring load on throttle to decrease bar load and droop limiter load, generating more LR grip and decreasing rigidity.

Dirt 5th coils, allowing for use of a much softer spring without overextending the lift bar off throttle on entry to the corner.

Asphalt late model right rears, allowing for use of a softer spring to generate more forward drive while removing extended load, decreasing weight transfer under braking.

And many, many more…

Assembly Instructions :

Zeta preloaders are designed to primarily use 3” ID Draco coilover springs, with certain models featuring adapters for 3.5” ID Draco coilover springs and 5” OD Draco springs.

  • Remove the adjuster nut from the preloader
  • Place spring on preloader
  • [Recommended] Place 3” coilover bearing (DRA-COB.3000) between adjuster nut and spring
  • Compress spring to generate preload by screwing adjuster nut down on preloader body using Zeta Preloader wrench set (ZET-SPL-WR)
  • Clean preloader regularly and lubricate. The only Zeta tested and recommended lubricant is 3-IN-ONE Lock Dry Lube, available at most hardware stores, auto parts stores and internet retailers nationwide. Zeta strongly recommends against using any lubricant that leaves an oily film, or dry graphite.
  • The preloader installs on the shock on standard 2.5” coilover hardware.
    • Be mindful of how the preloader slides on the shock and spring hardware so it does not catch or bind.
    • If the 2.5” diameter step on the coilover hardware is over ½” tall, the preloader will not be able to fully compress
  • With a spring on the preloader, use the coilover hardware on the shock to set the shock length at which the spring preloader engages. Do NOT use the adjuster hardware on the shock to set load
  • Use the adjuster nut on the preloader to set desired load
