Details

The Racetech RT4000WLB is a low-back bucket seat designed for applications where head clearance is limited — ideal for boats, classic cars, kit cars, or low-roof cabins.

Because it omits the headrest, it is **not FIA homologated**, making it suitable for custom, non-FIA, or recreational installations where certification isn't required.

Key Features

  • Low-back design — omits head restraint to fit low-roof or tight cabin spaces
  • Wide (W) version gives extra lateral room compared to standard shell
  • Composite fibreglass shell keeps weight low for easier handling and fitment
  • Suede wear patches in high-stress or contact zones for durability and driver comfort
  • Gelcoat outer finish (gloss black) for aesthetic appeal and durability in exposed environments

Mounting & Installation

Mounting & installation recommendations:

  • Use side-mount brackets aligned to 260 mm spacing
  • Torque mounting bolts to ~ 30 Nm / 22 ft-lb per spec
  • Ensure the seat is firmly clamped and no play is present under load
  • Confirm harness fit — the RT4000WLB does not include built-in harness guides for full belts; lap belt guides may optionally be added.
  • Check all clearances — wiring, roll cage, trim — before final tightening

Usage Notes

The RT4000WLB is designed for custom and low-clearance environments (boats, classic cars, low cabins) rather than certified motorsport use.

Because it lacks head restraint wings, it is not compatible with HANS devices or high-side impact protection systems, and is generally intended for non-FIA or non-high-level racing applications.

If planning to use with harness systems, ensure proper lap guides, anchorage, and fitment to prevent "submarining" under the belt.

Always verify that your use case allows for a non-FIA seat before installing in a regulated event.
